WS Type II Dynamic Scrubbers

The WS(II) is similar to the WS(I) that it incorporates a wet fan to overcome system losses and a separator, but the particulate stream is introduced into a pre-scrubber area below the separator where heavier, more abrasive dusts are captured and discharged.  The remaining particulate exits the pre-scrubbing section and into the wet fan inlet chamber.  Particulate is then captured by impaction on the wetted fan blades as well as internal mixing of the gases, liquid, and particles.  The collected material then enters tangentially into a separator where cyclonic action separates the water from the gas stream, and then to the separator as in the WS(I) configuration.  The WS(II) is generally preferred for heavy dust loads in the 1 - 3 micron size.
